Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala said that the transformation campaign had further strengthened his party.

The 'Transformation Campaign' was launched in last May to bring about 'transformative changes and revitalize the Nepali Congress, the oldest party in the country.

At a thought seminar organized by NC's forum of former District Presidents marking 41st Memorable Day of founding president of the NC, BP Koirala, on Tuesda, Dr Koirala argued that the party would become stronger if the suggestions and recommendations furnished during the transformation campaign were enforced.

Furthermore, he said that challenges within the party would come down if the NC would be taken forward in accordance with the party statute.

According to him, the NC's relevance would come to an end if it does not adopt the zero-tolerance on corruption. He was confident that the party would be run in accordance with the rules and statute following the meeting of the central working committee.

Similarly, NC Vice-President Dhanraj Gurung underscored transformation within the NC to bring about good transformation in the country. "The agenda of transformation within the NC is not over yet," he said, calling for a new leadership in the party to take on through the upcoming 15th national convention.

Gurung, also Minister for Justice, Law and Parliamentary Affairs in the current cabinet, assured that there would be an investigation committee commission which would investigate the properties of the high-ranking leaders.

Furthermore, he vowed to open the 'huge' files of corruptions and bring the culprits to book. "I will not give up my integrity, ideals and principles if even I have to give up on this ministerial post while delivering the good deeds," he pledged.

Also speaking in the event, leader Dr Chandrakanta Bhandari pointed out the need for the youths to take over the party's leadership. "There is no alternative for the youths to come together to assume the leadership in the party and take it forward," he said.

Other NC leaders Gururaj Ghimire, Madhu Acharya, Jagadishwor Narsing KC among others univocally said that the NC would have a good future if there was an transformation within the party for good.
