Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has called a meeting of the Constitutional Council for Tuesday.
Prime Minister Prachanda on Sunday convened a meeting of the Constitutional Council following a meeting with the Chairman of the ruling Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, and the Chairman of the main opposition CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli.
The agenda of this meeting, which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday at 4 pm, is to recommend a name for the new Chief Justice.
Prime Minister's Press Adviser Govinda Acharya told Nepalkhabar that the three leaders discussed issues including CC meeting and ending the impasse in Parliament in the meeting.
Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki, appointed for a short time, is going on leave on August 5.
A provision has it that a new Chief Justice has to be recommended a month before the incumbent one goes on leave.
