Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on September 22.
The UNGA which will start in New York from September 20 will be addressed by Prime Minister Prachanda on September 22.
However, since the date of the China falls around the same time, the final decision on whether Prime Minister Prachanda will attend the UNGA has not been made yet.
However, he is also willing to go to New York as the Sustainable Development Goals Summit (SDC Summit) under the United Nations is being held.
While the UNGA is going on in New York, the opening ceremony of the 2023 edition of the Asian Games is being held in Hangzhou, China. Prachanda, who has already received an invitation to visit China, is also willing to participate in the opening ceremony.
According to the officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, preparations are being in such a way that Prime Minister Prachanda will participate in both the opening session of the UNGA and the Asian Games Tournament. The Prime Minister Prachanda has got the time to deliver his address at the UNGA.
If he is to leave for China after the address, the Nepal government will have to arrange a special plane.
However, Nepal does not have such an aircraft arrangement. Therefore, there is a problem in the management of both New York and China visits. The United Nations General Assembly is starting from September 20. Prior to that, another important body under the UN is holding the SDG Summit.
Since the SDG Summit will be attended by heads of state and heads of government, Prachanda has prioritized visiting New York.
