It is likely that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will visit three countries around the third week of September.

Prime Minister Prachanda is planning to go to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly and the Summit on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the United Nations, and before that, he is likely to reach Havana, the capital of Cuba, for the summit of various developing countries including China.

After attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Prachanda will participate in the opening ceremony of the 2023 edition of the Asian Games before starting his official visit to China.

The summit of G-77, a group of various developing countries including China, will be held in Havana, the capital of Cuba, on September 15-16. China is also a member of the G-77, which was established in 1964 by various 77 developing countries that are members of the United Nations.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the G-77, hence being important. Although it is called the group of G-77 countries, currently, 134 member countries of the United Nations are affiliated with this group.

"Just before the United Nations General Assembly and the Summit on Sustainable Development Goals, the summit of the G-77 countries will be held in Cuba, and since New York is also close from there, the Prime Minister is likely to go to Cuba," the source said, “Prime Minister Prachanda wants to go to Havana (Cuba) because he will not get into geopolitical entanglements while participating in the conference.”

After the end of the summit of G-77 nations in Havana, the Summit on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG Summit) is starting on 18-19 September in New York, where the United Nations headquarters is based.

The United Nations has planned to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals worldwide by the year 2030. That is why this summit is considered important.

If Prime Minister Prachanda himself leads the Nepali delegation to the UN General Assembly, he will also go to New York to participate in the SDG Summit. As the United Nations General Assembly will start on September 20 after the SDG Summit scheduled for September 18-19, he is likely to go to New York to attend both events.

Prime Minister of Nepal is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly is on September 22. Nepal has tried to move the Prime Minister's address to the United Nations General Assembly a day earlier to go to China for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, which starts on September 23.

Prime Minister Prachanda has received an invitation to visit China to participate in the opening ceremony of the 2023 edition of the Asian Games, which will be inaugurated in Hangzhou, China from 23 September.

According to sources, China has invited Prime Minister Prachanda to visit Beijing after the opening ceremony of the Asian Games.

However, due to the date of his address to the United Nations General Assembly and the opening date of the Asian Games, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has faced some difficulties in arranging the schedule of the visit to both New York and China.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is trying to arrange the Prime Minister's visit to China even by rescheduling his date of address to the one day earlier.

"If he goes to New York, there is a strong possibility that he will also go to Cuba," the source said.

And, if that happens, Prachanda will visit Cuba, America and China around the third week of September.
