Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has earned a net profit of 12.33 billion rupees in the last fiscal year.
In a press meet organized on Thursday in Kathmandu, Kulman Ghising, the managing director of the Authority, informed that the profit was made in the fiscal year 2022/23.
According to the preliminary financial report, the authority's profit has reached 12.33 billion rupees, Ghising said.
He further informed that the third fiscal restructuring of the NEA has been prepared and the process of issuing the shares of the Authority to the public has been initiated.
In the fiscal year 2021/22, the profit of the Authority was 6.01 billion rupees.
Currently, Nepal is exporting 452 megawatts of electricity to India, the NEA has said.
