The meeting of the Socialist Front is taking place at the central office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) in Kathmandu today (Sunday).
Top leaders of the political parties affiliated with the Front will discuss the issues ranging from the government's function and contemporary political developments, said Unified Socialist General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal.
The meeting is taking place for the second time since the formation of the Front around three months ago.
Four parties, the CPN (Maoist Center), the Janata Samajwadi Party, the Unified Socialist and the Communist Party of Nepal-led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, are affiliated with the Front.
The Front is led by the Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Meanwhile, a Secretariat meeting of the Unified Socialist on Saturday discussed the preparations and agenda for the upcoming politburo meeting and the central committee meeting and the issue of further strengthening the Front.
The party has called the politburo meeting for August 20-21, and the central committee meeting for August 22-24. The central committee meeting is scheduled to fix the date and location for the party’s general convention.
