The American Embassy has informed that during his visit, he will connect with government officials, youth leaders, parliamentarians, and entrepreneurs to further strengthen political and commercial ties between the US and Nepal and highlight US support for Nepal's health sector and infrastructure.

The American grant assistance Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project has entered into the implementation phase.

The five-year US project entered into force after Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and the Vice President of MCC Compact Operations Department, Cameron Alford exchanged the letters of entry into force (EIF) on August 30.

American grant project MCC Vice President Cameron S. Alford came on a three-day visit to Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. He scheduled to return to America today.

According to the compact, America will provide 500 million US dollars under this project and the Nepal government will add 130 million dollars to it in the course of implementation of this project.

With this support, 400 KV power transmission lines and substations will be built from Lapsiphedi in Kathmandu to Ratmate in Nuwakot, Damauli in Tanahun to Butwal.

It also includes road upgradation work from Dhankhola in Kapilvastu to Shivakhola in Dang and Banke.
