The government has set about dozen agendas for the upcoming China visit of Prime Minister Pushapa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda.'
Foreign Minister NP Saud unveiled these agendas in a press meet organized in Solukhumbu this morning.
“Prime Minister Dahal is embarking on a visit to China. The agendas in the visit range from agricultural development to opening northern checkpoints to road upgradation,” said Saud, “The talks will also dwell on the grants pledged by President Xi Jinping during his Nepal visit in 2019.
Stating that there are more than 12 checkpoints on the northern border with China, the talks will also touch upon the operation of these border points.
Saud further said that the delegation will float proposals to move forward the hydropower projects on the China border including Kimathanka.
Besides, the projects including the construction of transmission lines from Rasuwa and Kimathanka, the east-west highway, Seti Corridor, road construction from Hilsa to Surkhet, Nuwakot-Chhahare tunnel construction and upgradation of Kodari Highway will feature in the agendas during the Prime Minister’s upcoming China visit, according to Saud.
Likewise, health issues including the extension of Civil Hospital and Bir Hospital will featured in the agendas during the China visit.
Prime Minister Dahal will fly to China from America on September 22.
He will leave for America on September 16 to participate in the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
