Ruling Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has expressed strong exception to the latest statement given by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Koirala said that Prime Minister Dahal should not have vowed promises of delineating provinces based on ethnic identity for votes.
Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Civil Service Employees’ Union, which is close to the Nepali Congress, in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Koirala said the country will be derailed by the anarchic statements of Prime Minister Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah.
The party should take Dahal’s statement seriously, said Dahal.
“The statement by Balendra Shah that the country is being derailed is wrong. As the mayor of the biggest metropolitan city, Shah should not have spoken such anarchic statements,” said Koirala adding, “Prime Minister should not have asked for votes promising that the provinces would be delineated based on ethnic identity. The country will not run this away. The Congress should take it seriously.”
Meanwhile, Koirala urged party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to address the problems facing the employees of the Union through the ministers representing the Congress.
He also asked Deuba to form a separate panel under the coordination of Deputy General Secretary Jeevan Pariyar to make suggestions on the Federal Civil Service Act. The Act is being registered in the parliament tomorrow.
