An all-party meeting is taking place at Singha Durbar as part of preparations of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s upcoming China visit.
Prime Minister Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Nepal, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut, Janamorcha Nepal Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC, incumbent Foreign Minister NP Saud, former foreign ministers including Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani, Ramesh Nath Pandey are participating in the meeting, according to the prime minister’s secretariat.
According to the schedule unveiled by the prime minister’s secretariat, he will fly to China on September 22 from USA and hold high-level meetings on September 23 and 24.
During his visit to China, Prime Minister Dahal will also reach an agreement with China on cross-border transmission lines.
The transmission lines will be constructed stretching between Kerung to Rasuwagadhi and Sankhuwasabha to Kimathanka, according to Dahal.
Prime Minister Dahal will also meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his China visit and hold talks on taking the BRI deal forward. The BRI agreement had been reached between Nepal and China in 2017.
Prior to China visit, Prime Minister Dahal will fly to the United States of America on September 16 to participate in the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
He will remain in America for five days (September 16 to 21) in the course of attending the UNGA in the country.
