Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has held interactions with the heads of Nepali diplomatic missions abroad focusing on the problems related to labor migration and their solutions.
Heads of diplomatic missions of 13 countries are present in the interaction organized for two days -- Monday and Tuesday.
During the interaction, the diplomats presented an interactive report on the problems related to the international labor market and their solutions.
Kewal Prasad Bhandari, the secretary at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, presented his concept paper on issues related to labor migration and the role of diplomatic missions in the program.
In the concept paper presented by Bhandari, the current situation regarding the labor market, immigration, remittances, bilateral labor agreements and understandings, foreign employment requisition guidelines, re-employment approval for foreign employment and individual labor approval, relief, rescue and welfare operations, new labor destinations and labor market prospects are mentioned.
In the concept paper, it is mentioned that the main 10 destinations of labor migration are Qatar, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, South Korea, Oman, Japan, and Romania. Likewise, various problems faced by Nepali workers during their foreign employment and solutions have been presented.
Nepali Ambassador to Austria Bharat Gautam, Oman's Dornath Aryal, Germany's Ramkaji Khadka, Japan's Durga Prasad Subedi, South Korea's Jyoti Pyakurel, Malaysia's Dilli Raj Paudel, Qatar's Naresh Bikram Dhakal, Bahrain's Tirtha Raj Wagle, Pakistan's Tapas Adhikari, Kuwait's Ghanashyam Lamsal, United Arab Emirates' Tej Bahadur Chhettri , Nawaraj Subedi from Saudi Arabia and others participated.
Similarly, Prime Minister Prachanda, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari, Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud, Prime Minister's Political Adviser Haribol Gajurel, secretaries of the Government of Nepal were present in the program.
It is learnt that Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to address on Tuesday during the two-day interaction program.
