Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) and CPN (UML) Vice Chairman Subas Nembang has passed away.
He breathed his last around 2 am on Tuesday. He was taken to the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj after he was found unconscious in the toilet around 1 am at his residence in Baluwatar. The doctor pronounced him dead when he was rushed to the hospital. He died of cardiac arrest, according to the doctor.
The chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Nembang was born on March 11, 1953 in Ilam. He was elected from Ilam- 2 in the elections held on November 20, 2022.
Nembang was a five-time MP from Ilam.
Nembang, who was a member of the National Assembly from 2048 to 2052 BS, became Speaker for the first time in 2063 BS. Nembang was also the Speaker of the Interim Parliament.
During the tenure of Nembang, who became the Chairman and Speaker of the First and Second Constituent Assembly, the Constitution was promulgated on September 20, 2015.
Nembang, who is also a senior advocate, also became a minister several times.
