Judicial Council recommends 27 for appointment as High Court judges

A meeting of the Judicial Council on Friday recommended the names of 27 persons for appointment as judges at High Court.

According to Man Bahadur Karki, the spokesperson for the Council, the list of recommendations includes Deputy Attorney General Shyam Kumar Bhattarai, Supreme Court Joint-Registrar Narayan Prasad Regmi, and Joint-Secretary (law) Sushil Koirala.

Likewise, district judges Radha Krishna Upreti, Harischanda Dhungana, Dhan Singh Mahara, Brajesh Pyakurel, Rhishiram Niraula, Chandramani Gyawali, Raju Kumar Khatiwada, Yogendra Prasad Shah, Khadananda Tiwari, Kabi Prasad Neupane, Prakash Kharel, Krishna Ram Koirala, Swikriti Parajuli, Kaji Bahadur Rai, Ritendra Thapa, Mohan Raj Bhattarai, Arjun Adhikari and Binod Kumar Pokhrel have been recommended for the High Court judges.

Among the legal practitioners, Achyut Kumar Acharya, Govinda Joshi, Punyashila Dawadi Ghimire, Purna Prasad Rajbanshi, Yagya Bahadur Rana Magar and Arjun Maharjan have been nominated for the posts.
