PM Dahal off to New York to attend 78th UNGA (photos)

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has left for the United States of America.

Prachanda left for New York to attend the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations from Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday evening.

He is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly next Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, diplomatic mission officials, and other ministers were present at the airport to bid farewell to Prime Minister Prachanda.

On Tuesday, he is scheduled to attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden.

During his stay in the US, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to address programs including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Summit and the Climate Ambition Summit.

He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

His daughter Ganga Dahal, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal among others are accompanying the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Prachanda is scheduled to go to China from America on September 22.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the visit to China, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral discussions and reach an understanding on issues including energy, physical infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, and other issues.
