CPN (UML) has organized a condolence assembly to mourn the demise of late UML Vice Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang in his home district Ilam on Tuesday.

Held at the district headquarters, Suhang Nembang, the youngest son of late Constituent Assembly chairperson Nembang, addressed the condolence assembly. During his address to the condolence assembly, which lasted for about eight minutes, he became emotional and often broke down.

Speaking on the occasion, Suhang, who sounded not less than a fine political orator, expressed grievances saying that god did not do justice to his father.

“My father passed away leaving all the denizens of Ilam grief-stricken. I am noy sure whether god exists or not, if it does, it did injustices to him,” said Suhang, “His early demise has left the entire people of Ilam shocked and grief-stricken.”

He further said that he saw the entire people of the country mourning over the death of his father.

“I have seen the entire people with their eyes full of tears. I saw the sea of humanity coming to pay tributes to my father at the hospital, residence and party office. People arrived jostling their way in the crowd to offer their floral tributes to the mortal remains of my father at Pashupati Aryalghat. The tributes paid to my father by you all will never be forgotten by me and my family. I am grateful to you for all the arrangements from the hospital to the funeral rites.”

He expressed gratitude to the government for performing funeral rites for his father with state honors and thanked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for giving a public holiday to mourn his death.

He also recalled UML Chairman KP Oli and other party leaders while addressing the condolence assembly.

He also thanked the people of Ilam for electing his father for five times as a lawmaker of the parliament.

Recalling his father, he said that his father was a strong supporter of the country's independence and dignity. "The country was in need of him at a time when the politics was deteriorating, of late", he said, "but he left us prematurely."

Suhang said that he is not active in politics but he knows the political situation of the country very well.

"I am not active in politics but I grew up with my father. I grew up in a political environment. Growing up in a political family, I don’t mean that one should get the opportunity”, he said, “However, I am ready to join hands with you to fulfil social or political works, if any, left halfway by my father.”
