Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who participated in the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, 15 years ago, now has another opportunity to participate in the grand opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
At that time, Prachanda was seen with the then President of China, Hu Jintao, and he is meeting with the incumbent President Xi Jinping in Hangzhou on Saturday.
China has made the Hangzhou Asian Games a major diplomatic forum this year, where Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk, Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and Nepal's Prime Minister Prachanda have been invited as guests.
This visit seems to be more important for Prachanda, who has visited China many times as the executive head of the country and chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) and has already met with President Xi four times.
Prachanda is coming from America on his official visit to China, and he is holding two meetings with President Xi in Hangzhou. Participating in the Asian Games along with other world leaders will be another important moment for Prachanda. Similarly, for the first time, Prachanda is meeting with the President of China outside the capital and with the Prime Minister Li Qiang and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji in the capital city Beijing.
Prime Minister Prachanda's press advisor Govinda Acharya says, "The meeting with the top three leaders of the Chinese Communist Party -- the President, the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in Hangzhou and Beijing, the reception by the minister at both Hangzhou and Beijing airports, the guard of honor and the visit to four to five provinces show its importance."
Minister will welcome Prachanda in Hangzhou; meeting with Xi over lunch
Prime Minister Prachanda will arrive in Hong Kong on Saturday, (September 23) at 5:40 am on a Cathay Pacific airbus from New York, USA.
On Saturday, Prachanda will fly from Hong Kong on a Cathay Pacific plane and will land in Hangzhou, China at 10:10 am.
Prime Minister Prachanda will be welcomed at Hangzhou International Airport by a Chinese minister and other officials. There are preparations to give a 'guard of honor' to Prime Minister Prachanda. Prachanda will then go to Hua Jia Shan Resort in Hangzhou, where the Prime Minister's team is scheduled to stay for one night.
President Xi is scheduled to have a lunch meeting over with Prime Minister Prachanda at 12:30 pm on the same day in Hangzhou. Prachanda will go to Xihu Hotel, where he will be welcomed by the President of China and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping with lunch.
Prachanda will return to the resort after an hour-long lunch meeting with Xi. At 4:20 pm, Prachanda will again go to Xihu Hotel (where Xi is staying) for a bilateral meeting with President Xi. According to the Prime Minister's visit schedule, there will be a formal meeting between Prachanda and Xi from 4:40 pm to 5:10 pm.
According to Prime Minister's Press Adviser Acharya, although this meeting is scheduled for 30 minutes, it is likely to be extended.
Although there are two more important meetings in Beijing, the Xi-Prachanda meeting in Hangzhou will guide Nepal-China relations in the future. President Xi and Prachanda are expected to discuss politics, geopolitics, and bilateral relations between the two countries in Hangzhou.
Although China has proposed a draft of the BRI implementation agreement with Nepal, Nepal has not responded to it, yet. There will be a discussion between Prachanda and XI on this matter, but it will depend on Prime Minister Prachanda's decision whether there will be an agreement.
After returning to the resort and taking rest, Prachanda will reach the headquarters of the world-famous company Alibaba Group at 7 pm for observation. After half an hour of observation, Prachanda will participate in the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games along with President Xi and guests from other countries. After participating in the opening ceremony for one hour from 8 pm, there is a program to return to the resort.
Investment Forum in Beijing
On 24 September, Prachanda will board an Air China flight from Hangzhou and land in Beijing at 12 pm. There is also a program to welcome the minister in Beijing, the capital of China. Arrangements have been made for Prachanda to stay at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing.
On that day, Prime Minister Prachanda will address the 'China-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum' jointly organized by Nepali and Chinese businessmen in Beijing. A welcome reception is held at the Nepali Embassy at 5:45 pm, which will last until 8:30 pm.
Prachanda has a busy schedule in Beijing on 25 September. At 8:30 am, Prachanda will reach Tiananmen Square, where Prachanda will offer floral tribute at the Mao Memorial Hall.
After that, there will be a meeting between Prime Minister Prachanda and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji for half an hour from 9:45 pm. Zhao is the third-ranking leader of the seven-member Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China after President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
A welcome program will be held for Prime Minister Prachanda with a guard of honor at Tiananmen Square.
Prime Minister Prachanda will then hold bilateral talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People in the same place. After the talks, some agreements will be signed between Nepal and China in the presence of the two prime ministers.
Prime Minister Li of China will then organize a luncheon in honor of Prime Minister Prachanda.
On the same day, at 2 pm, there is a program to visit the Huawei Beijing Research Center.
On the fourth day of his visit to China, Prachanda will fly from the capital Beijing to the western Chinese city of Chongqing on September 26, where he will stay for one day to observe the progress made by China in the modern development of agriculture and information technology.
Yuan Jiajun, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Chongqing City Committee, will have a meeting with Prime Minister Prachanda and have dinner together.
On September 27, Prachanda is scheduled to reach Lhasa in Tibet from Chongqing and meet with Wang Junzheng, secretary of the Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
