The home team Nepal has entered the semi-finals of the SAFF U19 Championship with a comfortable victory over the Maldives.
In the final match of Group A held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Monday, the home team defeated Maldives by 4-1, making it to the last four.
Along with this, from Group A, Pakistan became the group winner and Nepal became the runner-up and reached the last four.
In the semi-finals, Nepal will play a team between India and Bhutan. India and Bhutan will meet in the final Group B match today.
After losing 1-0 to Pakistan in the first match, Nepal won the second match and reached the semi-finals as the group runner-up with 3 points. Having tied with Pakistan, Maldives is at the bottom of the table with 1 point and has been eliminated in the group stage.
In Nepal's victory, Samir Tamang scored two goals and Prashant Laksam and Nirajan Dhami each scored one goal. Nepal led 2-0 in the first half of the game and scored 1 goal in the second half.
In the sixth minute of the game, Nirajan Dhami's shot missed the first bar and Nepal lost the chance to take the lead. Two minutes later, Nirajan's shot went wide of the crossbar.
