19th Asian Games:  Nepali competing in eight games

Today, Nepal is competing in eight games as part of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

On Thursday, Nepali players will compete in basketball, boxing, judo, table tennis, squash, cricket, handball and e-sports.

Nepal and Kazakhstan are scheduled to meet in the men's three-by-three basketball event in a round-robin format.

As for boxing, Nepal's Sushma Tamang will compete with players from Kazakhstan in the women's under 50 kg weight group. Bhupendra Thapa will compete in the men's under 63.5 kg category. In the weight category above 80 kg, Rabin will play Nobel John of the Philippines.

Nepal is facing Japan in the quarter-finals of mixed team doubles of Judo.

In table tennis, Nepal's Rubin Maharjan will play Maldives' Safan Mohammad in men's singles. Similarly, Sanyog Kapali will compete with Ahmed Oman Ali of Yemen.

In the men's doubles, Sanyog and Rubin will face Pakistan. In the pre-quarterfinals of the mixed doubles, the pair of Sanyog Kapali and Nabita Shrestha will face the players from Korea. Similarly, the duo of Rubin Maharjan and Sikka Suwal Shrestha will play against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea team.

In women's squash, Nepal and India and Nepal and Pakistan are scheduled to play. On the men's side, Nepal and Qatar and Nepal and Singapore will face each other.

Today, Nepal and Mongolia will meet in men's cricket.

Nepal and Japan will play in women's handball.

Nepal is scheduled to play Kazakhstan and Vietnam in e-sports.
