Govt decides to give Rs 1 mln to families of those killed in Israel

The Nepal government has decided to give Rs 1 million each to the families of Nepali students who lost their lives in Israel after being attacked by Hamas.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Monday afternoon took a decision to this effect.

Earlier in the today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ also had a video conversation with student leader Bipin Subedi who is, currently, taking shelter in a bunker in Israel.

Ten out of 49 students who went to Israel on a Learn-and-Earn program from Sudurpaschim University have been killed.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Israel, four people are injured and one person is missing.

Similarly, the government has announced a national mourning day* on Tuesday to mourn the deaths of Nepalis who were killed by Hamas. The Cabinet meeting held this afternoon took this decision.
