Indra Angbo, the member of the provincial assembly of the CPN (Maoist Center) has submitted a claim for the post of Chief Minister of Koshi Province.

Angbo staked the claim before Province Chief Parshuram Khapung on Thursday afternoon.

A meeting of the ruling alliance, earlier in the day, decided to field Angbo, who is also the Maoist Center Parliamentary Party leader of Koshi Province, to the post of Chief Minister on behalf of the ruling coalition.

Accordingly, he submitted his claim to the Province Chief, Khapung.

The four parties of the ruling coalition have 47 MPs in the Koshi Province Assembly.

Province Chief Khapung had called on the parties to submit claims  by 5 pm tomorrow (Friday) for the formation of a new government in line with Article 169 (5) of the Constitution.

Uddhav Thapa, the leader of Nepali Congress Koshi  Province, became the Chief Minister twice, but the government collapsed on the ground of not receiving a vote of confidence.

That is why the alliance has decided to form the government under the leadership of the CPN (Maoist Center) as per Article 168 (5).

The coalition believes that Angbo will also be supported by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

The RPP has called a central committee meeting at 8 am on Friday to decide on the Koshi Province government.
