The newly elected Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Kedar Karki, will form a small cabinet after taking oath tomorrow (Sunday).

In the first phase, one person from Karki and at least one from UML will be included in the cabinet.

Rewati Raman Bhandari, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party (PP), informed that a 3 to 4-member cabinet will be formed on Sunday.

He says that the names of the possible ministers have not been decided.

As Sunday is a public holiday, as soon as the office opens on Monday, Chief Minister Karki will inform the provincial assembly secretariat about taking the vote of confidence.

"An agreement has been reached to take the vote of confidence on Wednesday itself," says Bhandari, "if it is delayed, the decision of the vote of confidence can be taken by Thursday."

Bhandari further said (that) the rest of the power-sharing will be done only after taking the vote of confidence.

Chief Minister Karki came to Kathmandu on Saturday to discuss the upcoming roadmap and power-sharing at the central level. He is scheduled to return to Biratnagar on Sunday morning.

According to a leader privy to the meeting, since the Chief Minister is elected from the Congress, the UML might get the Speaker. Similarly, the deputy speaker may be given to RPP.
