Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, who suffered a heart attack during his China visit, is out of danger, the government has said.
Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma, who is also the spokesperson of the government, informed that Home Minister Shrestha is now able to speak while announcing the decision of the cabinet meeting on Thursday afternoon.
Home Minister Shrestha, who is currently in Beijing during his China visit, suffered a sudden heart attack last night.
Spokesperson Sharma informed that Shrestha was admitted to the Peking Union Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night and underwent surgery.
“Minister Shrestha underwent an angioplasty at a hospital in Beijing. He is now out of danger”, she said, “He will stay there for a few days. He is able to speak now.”
Home Minister Shrestha, who landed in China three days ago to participate in the BRI Conference, was scheduled to return to Nepal on Friday.
He will stay there for a few days due to illness, says the government.
