Thirty-two percent voter turnout has been reported as of 12.45 pm across the country.

According to Spokesperson for the Election Commission, Shaligram Poudel, the voter turnout stood at 32% until 12.45 pm.

"Except for a few untoward incidents, voting is taking place peacefully in a free and fair manner," Poudel said. Voting was affected in around 50 places across the country. However, voting has already resumed in 30 places.

According to Poudel, the voter turnout has dwindled compared to last time. "We can't exactly predict the vote turnout now," he said.

Federal parliament and provincial assembly elections have been taking place in a single phase throughout the country since 7am today.

A total of 246,960 staffs and around 300 thousand of security personnel have been deployed to conduct polls. According to the Commission, there are a total of 17,988,570 voters registered with the EC and 22,227 voting centres in 10,892 polling stations.

Altogether 7,219 observers, national and internationals, have been observing elections.
