Police arrested Yograj Dhakal alias Regal after the Supreme Court annulled the decision to grant amnesty to him.

Central Spokesperson for Nepal Police DIG Kuber Kadayat informed Nepalkhabar that he was arrested from Nepalgunj in Banke.

Hearing on a writ petition filed against the government's decision to parole Dhakal, a murder convict, that continued on Tuesday and Wednesday, a division bench of justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Sapana Pradhan Malla, and Kumar Chudal reversed the verdict today.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day, the Cabinet had recommended the President to parole Regal, who was serving jail term over a murder case. With the government's decision, he was released from jail.

Bharati Sherpa, the wife of Chetan Manandhar, had filed a writ petition against the government's decision to condone Regal, who had murdered Manandhar.

With this decision, Regal will be sent back to prison to serve the rest of his sentence. Earlier, the District Court Banke and High Court Tulsipur, Nepalgunj gave him a verdict of imprisonment.

According to which he will have to serve 20 years in jail. But Regal was released after serving 11 years, 11 months and 5 days of imprisonment.
