NC leader Prakash Man Singh emerges winner in Kathmandu-1

Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh.

Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-1.

Singh defeated his closest rival Rabindra Mishra of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) with a margin of 129 votes.

Singh got 7,140 votes while Mishra obtained 7,011 votes. In the twin elections held on Sunday, a total of 27,018 votes were cast in Kthmandu-1.

Leader Singh's personal secretary UP Lamichhane said the result is yet to officially be announced by the Election Commission.
