CPN-UML’s Krishna Gopal Shrestha won the elections to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-9.
Shrestha won the elections with 10,020 votes. With this win, CPN-UML has won two first-past-the-post (FPTP) seats so far.
Shrestha had also been elected as the member of the House of Representatives in 2074 BS from this constituency.
Shrestha was the Minister of Education during the premiership of KP Sharma Oli.
His competitor Tek Bahadur Pokharel of the Rastriya Swatantra Party received 8,725 votes.
Kalpana Dhamala, the candidate of the ruling coalition, goy 5,279 votes.
