Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has objected to the government's decision to ban the social media platform Tiktok.

Taking to social networking sites, Sharma has said the government should withdraw its decision to immediately put a ban on social media app TikTok.

Sharma, who is also an MP from the ruling Nepali Congress, following the government's decision, asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', "If a boil forms on the neck, will you cut the neck?"

He made suggestions on four points through social networking sites and demanded the withdrawal of the decision.

"Religious tolerance will be protected through self-discipline and good governance. Let's have an open discussion on how to bring the social network to self-discipline. Let's find a logical conclusion and follow it," he said.

He said that it is not possible to find the right answer by closing the source of questions, saying that those who abuse TikTok should be discouraged through strict control measures.

Sharma further said, 'Today Tiktok is closed, Facebook will be closed tomorrow, after some days, someone will say that the democratic system of governance has spoiled the country, then will we go for dissolution of the democratic system itself?"

Another Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has also taken strong exception to the government's move to put a ban on TikTok, demanding its withdrawal.
