The Australian government will provide AUD 600,000 (nearly Rs 51.7 million) in humanitarian aid for the quake-hit people in Nepal.
According to a press release shared by the Australian Embassy in Nepal the funds will be provided through existing multilateral and local partnerships to deliver emergency humanitarian supplies and life-saving protection and assistance.
Australia’s assistance will also contribute to early reconstruction efforts to restore damaged public infrastructures, including healthcare facilities.
Australia has also extended its deepest condolences to the people of Nepal and those whose lives and livelihoods have been affected.
