Ambar Bahadur Rayamajhi of CPN-UML has been elected as the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Udayapur constituency-2.
According to Jeevan Kumar Bhandari, the returning officer, UML’s Bhandari garnered 15,251 votes to win the elections.
His closest rival Jagannath Khatiwada of CPN (Unified Socialist) got 12,893 votes.
Similarly, rebel candidate of Nepali Congress Ram Kumar Rai got 10,379 votes. According to polictical analyst, Rai’s candidacy is behind the defeat of Khatiwada.
Suresh Kumar Rai of the Maoist Center had been elected in the parliamentary elections held in 2074 BS from this constituency.
Of the total 28 candidates in the fray for the House of Representatives, UML and NC have taken lead in nine constituencies each.
Similarly, Maoist Center and Rastriya Swatantra Party have taken lead in the four and two constituencies, respectively.
Similarly, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Janata Samajbadi Party have taken lead in one place each.
