Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel of Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Tanahu constituency-1.
Poudel won the elections by defeating Ek Bahadur Rana Magar of CPN-UML by a margin of 5,375 votes.
He garnered 25,318 votes while his nearest contender Rana Magar polled 19,943 votes.
Poudel contested the elections from this constituency after reaching an agreement to field Krishna Kumar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist) in Bara-4. Poudel had lost to Shrestha in the elections of 2074 BS.
Shrestha has also won the elections from Bara-4.
