Ravi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan-2.
Journalist-turned-politician Lamichhane defeated his rival Umesh Shrestha of Nepali Congress by a margin of 34,162 votes.
Lamichhane notched up 49,261 votes against 15,099 votes received by Shrestha.
Similarly, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel of CPN-UML got 14,649 votes.
However, the final election results are yet to officially be announced by the Election Officer.
