Manbir Rai of CPN-UML has won the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR).
Rai defeated Bal Bahadur KC of Nepali Congress (NC) by a margin of 2,779 votes.
Rai notched up 19,324 votes against 16,545 received by KC.
Similarly, Janata Samajbadi Party candidate Lahka Sherpa got 901, CPN (Marxist-Leninist)’s Bishnu Prasad Bastola polled 490 votes.
KC, who has been contesting the elections since 2048, lost to the elections for the third time. He could not make it to the HoR despite contesting from the democratic-left alliance this time.
