Chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has said the post-election government is unlikely to provide a much-needed political stability to the country.
Oli made such remarks after receiving a certificate of his re-election in Jhapa on Thursday.
"Vote counting results are beyond our expectations. Given this situation, political parties are forced to form a coalition government," the former prime minister said.
There will be a coalition government in the near future, he said.
"Firstly, it will be very difficult to get a majority government within the next two years. Even if the majority government is formed, it will not last long," Oli added.
Oli said that the outcome of elections will ultimately bring a fresh political instability in the country.
Oli admitted that election results were unexpected for his party. "Our party worked hard to ensure political stability in the country. But, the election results did not favor us," he added.
