Senior leader of Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel has held a meeting with Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal on Monday morning.
The meeting between Poudel and Nepal took place at the latter’s residence in Koteshwor, the sources have said.
According to a source close to Poudel, in the meeting which focused on the formation of the government, Poudel urged Nepal to lend support to make him the prime minister.
In response, Nepal said he would support him in his bid.
“All of your contemporaries have become prime ministers. Now, it’s your turn to become the head of the government. We will support you,” a Boharatar source quoted Nepal as saying.
Earlier, Poudel had also met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi.
