HoR passes anti-money laundering bill

The House of Representatives (HoR) has endorsed the bill designed to amend the Prevention of Money Laundering and Promotion of Business Environment.

A meeting of the HoR convened on Wednesday passed the bill designed to amend some Acts including the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2008, by a two-thirds majority.

"The proposal submitted by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dhanraj Gurung seeking endorsement of the bill to amend some Acts and laws related to the prevention of money laundering and promotion of business environment, was endorsed by a two-thirds majority in the parliament," said Speaker Devraj Ghimire.

The HoR’s next meeting will take place on February 18 at 11 am.
