Nepali Congress (NC) has received more than 2.5 million votes under the proportional representation (PR) category of the House of Representatives (HoR).
As per the vote count results made public as of Tuesday afternoon, NC garnered 2,500,152 votes out of 9,821,561 votes counted.
UML has received the highest 2,646,449 votes. Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) has received1, 128,907 votes.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has received 1,085,857 votes. Rastriya Prajatantra Party has got 559, 634 votes, Janata Samajbadi Party (378,150) while Janamat Party has received 336,038 votes.
CPN (Unified Socialist), which is struggling to get through the threshold, has received 277,503 votes.
UML, NC, Maoist Center, RSP, RPP, JSP, Janamat Party have met the criteria of becoming the national party so far.
According to the EC, of the total 17,988,570 voters, 10,970,000 (61%) were cast in the twin elections on November 20. It is estimated that around 300,000 votes will be invalid. Hence, the valid votes are estimated to be 10,670,000.
Based on this calculation, around 800,000 votes are remaining to be counted.
