America booked their berth in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022.
America defeated Iran 1-0 in the third group stage match played at the Al Thumama Stadium, Doha City, Qatar on Tuesday night.
With this win, America which are placed in Group 'B' notched up five points from three matches.
Defeated Iran could make only three points from an equal number of matches. England from the same group notched up seven points to climb atop the points tally.
Now, America will have to compete with the Netherlands, the winner of Group 'A', to enter into the quarter-final.
