The vote count of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA) elections held on November 20 has reached a final stage.
According to the latest statistics maintained by the Election Commission (EC), 10,008,302 votes have been counted as of 8 am today.
Among those counted, CPN-UML has garnered highest 2,696,575 votes under the proportional representation (PR) category, followed by Nepali Congress with 2,553,094 votes.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) has received 1,143,894 votes, Rastriya Swatantra Party (1,098,275) while Rastriya Prajatantra Party has received 570,659 votes.
Janata Samajbadi Party has garnered 389,197 votes while Janamat Party has received 349,352 votes.
CPN (Unified Socialist) is still struggling to cross the threshold with 282,262 votes. Likewise, Nagarik Unmukti Party has got 250, 059 votes so far.
According to the EC, of the total 17,988,570 voters, 10,970,000 (61%) were cast in the twin elections held on November 20. Around 300,000 votes will be invalid, according to the projection made by the EC. Hence, the valid votes are estimated to reach around 10,670,000.
Based on this calculation, a party has to receive at least three percent (around 320,100) of the total valid votes to cross the threshold.
