Gold continues to glitter, silver loses luster

The gold price set a new record after it increased by Rs 700 per tola today (Friday).

According to the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers Association (FENEGOSIDA), the hallmark gold is being sold for Rs 139,300 per tola and worked gold for Rs 138,650 per tola.

Even though the gold price increased, the silver price went down by Rs 5 per tola today. With the decline in price, the silver is being sold for Rs 1,720 per tola.  The price of silver was Rs 1,725 yesterday.

The price of hallmark gold was 138,600 and that of worked gold Rs 137,950 per tola on Thursday.

The price of gold is on the increasing trend in the international market. According to the news agencies, the gold price is set for US$ 2,362 per ounce in the international market.

Similarly, silver is being traded for US$ 28 per ounce.
