A bilateral meeting between President Ramchandra Paudel and Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is underway at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas.
The mutual interests and bilateral relations will be discussed during the meeting.
Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Shakti Basnet, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, Secretary at the Office of the President, Diili Ram Sharma, Chief Personal Secretary and advisors to the President are participating in the meeting. A high-level delegation of Qatar is also taking part in the meeting.
Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived on a two-day state visit on Tuesday afternoon at the invitation of President Ramchandra Paudel.
Al Thani landed at the TIA at 3:2 pm, leading a jumbo 150-member delegation on four planes, according to Jagannath Niraula, the General Manager of the TIA.
“Qatari Emir Al Thani landed at the TIA at 3:2 pm on Tuesday, leading a jumbo 150-member delegation on four planes,” said Niraula, “One of the planes arrived on Sunday. The other three planes landed along with Emir Al Thani today.”
President Paudel had welcomed Emir Al Thani at the VVIP lounge of the TIA.
Qatari Emir has reached Sheetal Niwas to hold a bilateral meeting with President Paudel. The government has given a public holiday on the occasion of the Nepal visit of Emir Al Thani on Tuesday.
Al Thani will head to Soaltee Hotel for a state banquet hosted by the President in honor of the state guest this evening.
