Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Karki, has secured the vote of confidence on Monday.
A total of 57 province lawmakers voted for the motion floated by Karki in the meeting of the Provincial Assembly a while ago.
In the 93-member Koshi Province Assembly, none of the lawmakers cast their votes against Karki while five remained neutral.
A total of 62 lawmakers were present in the province assembly meeting while the rest abstained from it.
Main opposition Nepali Congress has been staging protests against Karki saying that his appointment is against the Constitution.
Outgoing Chief Minister Kedar Karki has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the appointment of Hikmat Karki.
