Govt withdraws Bill to Amend Political Parties Act

The government has withdrawn the Bill to Amend Political Parties Act tabled in the parliament.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has received the letter from the government calling for the withdrawal of the Bill, Shekhar Adhikari, the press advisor to Speaker Devraj Ghimire, told Nepalkhabar on Friday morning.

A provision has it that the government can withdraw this sort of bill at any time at its will.

The Nepal government had forwarded the Bill in order to reinstate the previous provision that necessitates 40 percent cap in both the parliamentary party and central committee to split a party.
