BAC meeting underway prior to HoR meeting

Holding talks on PM's vote of confidence

A meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) is taking place at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar prior to the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The BAC is holding discussions on the vote of confidence being taken by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the HoR meeting today. Since this meeting is still taking place, the HoR meeting scheduled for 11 am has been differed.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire had scheduled the HoR meeting for 11 am today.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is taking the vote of confidence in the HoR meeting today in line with Article 100 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Prime Minister is taking the vote of confidence after Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Upendra Yadav, the chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal, pulled out of the incumbent government.

A provision has it that, the Prime Minister has to take the vote of confidence within 30 days when a party involved in the government pulls out of it or withdraws support to it.
