A meeting of the opposition parties is taking place at the Office of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party in New Baneshwar prior to the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The main opposition NC started holding a meeting of opposition parties even though the meeting of the HoR was scheduled for 11 am.

The NC is holding talks with the opposition parties including Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSP-N), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) on how to proceed in the House meeting.

Although there was an agreement between the ruling party and the opposition on the matter of setting up a parliamentary probe committee regarding the embezzlement of cooperative funds, the NC continued to block the House proceedings for failure to agree on the terms of reference (ToR).

Meanwhile, a task-force meeting is being held at the Ministry of Law to strike a deal on the mandate.

Today, the HoR has an agenda to endorse the government's policies and programs. However, the HoR meeting which was scheduled to begin at 11 am has been delayed.
