Govt’s policy and program endorsed by parliament despite NC’s protest

The policy and program brought by the government for the next fiscal year 2081/082 has been passed by the majority of members of parliament of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Following discussions amidst protests by the opposition parties including Nepali Congress (NC), Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced that the policy and program has been passed by the majority of lawmakers.

Prior to that, lawmakers Chitra Bahadur KC, Prem Suwal, Swarnim Wagle among others presented their views on the policy and program.

The amendment proposals to the policy and program floated by lawmakers Chitra Bahadur KC and Prem Suwal were rejected by the majority of lawmakers and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ answered the questions raised in the HoR meeting.

The next meeting has been called for May 28, the day budget for the fiscal year 2081/82 is presented.
