A writ petition submitted at the Supreme Court seeking Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s suspension and investigation into the embezzlement of the cooperative fund has been registered.

A single bench of Supreme Court Justice Advocate Tek Prasad Dhungana on Wednesday ordered to register the writ filed by advocate Anupam Bhattarai.

The writ which was earlier turned by the Supreme Court Administration has been registered on Monday, advocate Bhattarai told Nepalkhabar.

The writ has been schedule for hearing on coming Wednesday.

Attorney General Dinmani Pokharel and Home Minister Lamichhane have been mentioned as dependents in the writ petition.

Earlier, Attorney General Pokharel on April 22 gave a clean chit to Lamichhane stating that he received no accusation note against Lamichhane in the cooperative fund fraud.

The clean chit given to Lamichhane constitutes violations against constitution, criminal law and curtails the cooperative depositors’ right to justice, reads the petition.

Depositors of Supreme Cooperatives, Butwal and Suryadarshan Cooperatives, Pokhara have filed complaints against Lamichhane seeking investigation into the embezzlement of the cooperatives fund.
