General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC) Bishwa Prakash Sharma said his party has just refuted to CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli for his bellicose views he expressed on the Giribandhu Tea Estate.

Talking to journalists at the residence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Monday, General Secretary Sharma said that NC enjoys as much right to level acquisitions as Oli does against our party, recalling the moment when they were sitting together to draft the constitution.

Earlier today, talking to journalists at Baluwatar, UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel vehemently stated that the term with the NC would not move smoothly unless the NC withdraws its allegations in writing.

Reacting to Vice Chairman’s statements, Sharman said, “We drafted the constitution together. If Oli is allowed to level allegations against NC, we are also allowed to respond to it. This is not North Korea, this is Nepal.”

Oli reacted aggressively after the Supreme Court issued a full text on the case of Giribandhu Tea Estate, according to Sharma.

“It was former Prime Minister Oli who first reacted ferociously on the full text after it was issued on the case of Giribandhu Tea Estate by the apex court,” said Sharma, “Oli said the NC pocketed the commission by selling 51 bighas of land. Given the constitution allows him to level accusations against NC, should the NC require his permission to defend itself against these allegations?”

Sharma admonished Oli, hinting at his involvement in a “cooperative-bandhu alliance” seeking a written apology from him.
