Rs 8.39 bln allocated for mid-day meal

The government has allocated Rs 8.39 billion for the mid-day meal program.

Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2081-82 BS in the Federal Parliament building on Tuesday, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun said Rs 8.39 billion has been allocated for the nutritious mid-day meal for students.

The budget for the mid-day meal program has been increased to benefit 3 million students studying in schools.

Local products will be stressed while carrying out this program, according to the budget speech.
