General Secretary of Nepali Congress Bishwa Prakash Sharma has challenged Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to reopen the long-dormant case related to Giribandhu Tea Estate.

Speaking at the special time of the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, General Secretary Sharma asked Lamichhane to investigate allegations leveled by Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli against NC that took a huge of amount of commission while selling 70 bighas of land belonging to Giribhandhu.

Sharma also challenged Lamichhane to penalize NC by investigating the case of Giribandhu Tea Estate.

“UML Chairman Oli has accused NC of taking a huge amount of commission by helping sell 70 bighas of land belonging to Giribandhu Tea Estate. I challenge Home Minister Lamichhane to reopen the file and bring NC to book,” said Sharma, asking NC, “Are you ready to reopen the file? I am dead sure you cannot utter even a single word on it, let reopening the file alone.”

Meanwhile, General Secretary Sharma lashed out at Oli for barring Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, from expanding the width of the pavement of New Road. Sharma underlined the need to widen the pavement of New Road, endorsing Balendra's plan of road upgradation.
