Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that Nepali Congress is not impatient to join the government.
Addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Koirala said that the NC is now in opposition and is not restless to join the government. “We are now in opposition and will play our roles of an opposition party. We are not impatient to join the government right away,” said Koirala.
Stating that criminalization in politics is rife of late, Koirala said the anti-graft body, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Election Commission (EC) are unnecessarily inflicting woes and anguishes on the general public and hell-bent on sticking to power by splitting political parties.
He vehemently stated that the country will not get a new lease of life unless we ensure good governance, transparency and put an end to the existing corruption in the country.
“The country is undergoing a political turmoil, currently. It seems as if there are eight governments – seven provincial and one in the center –in the country. The eight governments have changed 23 times in one and a half years,” stated Koirala, pointing out at the weaknesses in provision of the Constitution of Nepal.
